JAMMU, Jan 20: KC Sports Club got better of Reasi XI by virtue of 1st innings lead in the ongoing 1st Kuldip Sharma Memorial 2-Day Matches Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Academy in collaboration with Project Model School, Janipur got underway at Gharota Cricket ground, here.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight total of 27/1, KC Sports Club scored 200 runs in their first innings to gain a narrow but vital first innings lead of 5 runs. Zamin top scored with 82 runs, while Shoaib contributed 41 runs to the total. For Reasi, Mandeep Singh took 3 wickets, while Sarabjeet bagged 2 and Rahat claimed one.
In their second essay, Reasi scored 83/4 in 13 overs to set a target of 78 runs for KC Sports Club. Nitn Sharma and Sarabjeet contributed 31 and 25 runs to the total respectively. Shoaib took 3 wickets for KC Sports Club, while Udhay Singh claimed one.
KC Sports Club in reply managed to score 42/8 when the stumps were drawn on the second and the final day, today.
Earlier, put into bat on day-1, Reasi had scored a decent total of 195 runs in 60 overs. Nitin Sharma top scored with 70 runs, while Ankush Sharma, Jasvir Singh and Anubahv contributed 30, 21 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For KC Sports Club, Touqeer Jafri and Shoaib captured 4 wickets each by conceding 32 and 5 runs in 18 and 5.2 overs respectively. For his all-round show, Shoaib was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches are being officiated by Shugal, Lakshya, Akarsh and Satyam, while the Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Vivek Sharma, former Ranji Trophy player.
12 teams are participating in this long-version game tournament for Under-14, 16 and Under-19 boys, which is being played on turf wicket.
