JAMMU, Sept 14: KC Sports Club and Shastri Cricket Club registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing State Cricket Academy T20 Championship, being played at MA Stadium here.
In today’s matches, Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Jammu Sports Council was the chief guest.
Earlier, in the first match, KC Sports Club defeated Shiva Cricket Club by 34 runs.
Batting first, KC Sports Club scored 142 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18 overs. Ateev Saini top scored with 52 runs, while Arjun Choudhary, Atul, Shubam and Sachin contributed 16 runs each. Rahul took 2 wickets, while Amit, Sahil and Danish claimed 1 wicket each.
Shiva Club, in reply made 108 runs in 18 overs, thus lost the match by 34 runs. Aakash scored 26 runs, while Avitesh and Sourav contributed 17 runs to the total. Vivek took 5 important wickets, Zorawer scalped 2 wickets, while Aman and Ateev claimed 1 wickets each. Ateev Saini was adjudged as the man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs 500.
In another match, Shastri Club defeated General Baj Singh Club by 9 wickets.
Batting first, General Baj Singh Club collapsed at 53 runs in 14.5 overs. Atul scored 32 runs, while no other batsman could cross the double figure mark. Gagandeep Singh was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 6 wickets, Vicky bagged 2 wickets and Anchal claimed one.
In reply, Shastri Club chased the target in 10.2 overs for the loss of 1 wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Vicky with 24 runs and Kannav with 23 runs were main scorers. Rakesh took the lone wicket for his team.
Gagandeep Singh declared as the man of the match and was presented a cash prize of Rs 500.
