KC Sports Academy, Singh Akhnoor register wins

JAMMU, Dec 7: KC Sports Academy and Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor registered convincing victories over their rivals in the 6th Christmas T20 Cricket Championship being played at Parade Ground Jammu under the banner of Christian Sports Organization Jammu, Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu, Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu and supported by Diocese of Jammu.
The objective of the championship is to involve the youth in sports so that they do not involve in drugs and the slogan is “Be Healthy- Don’t Do Drugs”
The Championship is being organized under the supervision of Dr S D Singh Jamwal IGP Jammu and Fr. Kuriakose Chairmanship CSO whereas the event conduct committee includes SSP Rajesh Sharma, SSP Ramesh Kotwal, SP Amritpal Singh, Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and other dignitaries.
In today’s first match KC Sports Academy defeated Horizon Eleven Samba by 2 runs.
Batting first, KC Sports Academy scored 95 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 18 overs. Nawar top scored with 38 runs. From the bowling side, Dev took 3 wickets, while Majid and Ashish took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Horizon Samba could not chase the target and managed to score 93 runs thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 2 runs. Ashish Singh scored 38 runs. From bowling side, Gourav took 3 wickets, while Nawar and Harvinder took 2 wickets each. Nawar was declared as man of the match.
In another match, Singh Club Akhnoor defeated Cantt Club Satwari by 44 runs.
Batting first, Singh Club scored 128 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 16 overs.
Manik (28) and Sumit (25) runs were the main scorers. From the bowling side, Ashu took 3 wickets, while Dheeraj, Parshotam and Ajeet claimed 1 wicket each. In reply, Jammu Cantt Club managed to score 85 runs in 13 overs thus lost the match by 44 runs. Rahul (30) runs and Rohit (17) were the main scorers.
From bowling side, Salam took 4 wickets while Sham Singh took 3 wickets. Salam was adjudged as the man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Sunil Sambyal, Sanju and Vijay.
In tomorrow’s Fixture, Christian Sports Organisation will face Green Field Eleven at 9 am whereas Vishal Cricket Club will take on Shehanshah Club at 1 pm.
