JAMMU, May 28: The High Commission of Malta, New Delhi organized an Inter-School Maltese Books Competition in association with KC Public School, here today.
Two copies each of Maltese Folk Tales and Jake Cassar Saves the Kingdom of King Pankracious III were distributed among 15 CBSE affiliated Schools of Jammu invited for the Competition.
The students in the age group of 11-14 were expected to read Maltese Folk Tales and then write a review on it, while the fantasy tale Jake Cessar Saves the Kingdom was to be read by the students in the age group of 7-9 for writing a review.
An audio CD containing 5 stories from the Maltese Folk Tales narrated by a professional voice artist from Malta was also issued to these schools.
Meanwhile, students below 7 years were expected to listen to these stories and make a drawing based on their impression.
Nine schools including KC Public participated in the competition. The other schools were DPS, Heritage, JK Public, Jodhamal, JP World, KC Gurukul and Army Public School Akhnoor.
The award of best book review on Maltes Folk Tales went to Akanksha Sharma of Jodhamal Public School, while the second and third positions went to Divya Jyoti Swain of KC Public School and Muskan Gupta of Jodhamal Public School respectively.
Meanwhile, the awrd of best book review on Jake Cessar Saves the Kingdom was claimed by Yashvi Singh of KC Public, while Anu Raina and Jaskanwar Singh of Heritage School bagged second and third place respectively.
The award of best drawing on Folk Tales went to Bhavika Rai of DPS, Jammu, while the second position was bagged by Archie Kapoor of KC Public and the third place went to Abhay Mahajan of Army Public School, Akhnoor.
The awards were distributed by chief guest VP Goswami, Ex Chairman of International Airport Authority of India.
