Katra police organises debate competition

KATRA, Jan 29: Katra police organised Sub-Division level debate competition under civic action programme at Government Higher Secondary School here today.
Rashmi Wazir, Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi was the Chief guest while Naresh Singh, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Katra welcomed all the esteemed guests and prominent citizen as well as participants of the competition.
19 students from Government Higher Secondary School Katra, Panthal, Government Middle School Chamba, Amba Kids Home High School Panthal and Government High School Arli-Hansali were participated.
The programme was witnessed by SDPO Katra, Vivek Shekhar and Inspector Pardeep Gupta, P/s Katra and prominent citizens of Katra town, school staff and media fraternity.
Arun Sharma and Rakesh Sharma were judges of the event and the Chief guest distributed the prizes among the four winners students with cash rewards along with certificates and trophies and consolation prizes were given to all the participating students.
Tania Magotra (12th class) of Government Higher Secondary School Katra clinched first prize of Rs 3000. Second prize of Rs 2000 bagged by Suneha Devi (6th class) of Government Middle School, Chamba.
Third and fourth prize won by Sonia Akhtar (8th class) and Tania Sharma (11th class) of Rs 500 each from High School Amba Kids Home Panthal and Government Higher School Panthal respectively.
SSP, Reasi congratulated all the participants and assured that such competition would also be held in future to encourage the children and groom them for future endeavour and will also keep them away from drug addiction and other bad habits. Vote of thanks were presented by Vivek Shekher, SDPO Katra.
