KATHUA, Aug 19: Organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Inter Zone District Level Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volley Ball for U-19 years Boys and Girls began today at Government Boys HSS Kathua.
On the inaugural day of the tournament, the competitions for boys were held in which 120 players participated. Zone Kathua emerged as overall champion by winning all three trophies viz Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volley Ball (Boys) and Zone Hiranagar remained runner up.
Earlier in Kabaddi, Zone Hiranagar trounced Zone Bahsohli, Kathua outplayed Billawar and Hiranagar thrashed Bani. In final, Kathua registered win over Hiranagar by 13 points.
In Volley Ball, Zone Hiranagar outplayed Zone Billawar by 2-0 sets, Bani fished out Billawar from tournament by 2-1 sets and Kathua trounced Billawar by 2-1 sets. In final, Kathua thrashed Hiranagar by 2-1 sets.
In Kho-Kho, Kathua defeated Hiranagar by 06 points and in final, Kathua thrashed Billawar by 05 points.
