KATHUA, Oct 21: Kathua District Judo Championship, organised by Judo Association of Jammu and Kashmir under the aegis of J&K Sports Council & J&K Olympic Association, concluded at Sports Stadium, here today.
About 80 students of all age groups both male and female participated in the championship, which was inaugurated by Councillor Rahul Dev.
BJP District Kathua president, Gopal Mahajan was the chief guest of the closing ceremony and distributed medals among the winners.
Sahil Dogra, honorary general secretary District unit was the organiser of the championship, whereas the bouts were officiated by Shakti Gupta, coach & Manish Chatwal Judo instructor.
Jaishwer Parley, Anab, Harsh Dev Singh, Himanshu Jamwal, Pranav Sharma, Tarun Sharma, Aryan Choudhary, Umeshwar, Tanvir, Romit Sharma, Vipul Yashovardhan, Shagun Saini, Anshuman, Mridul, Aritik, Mushtaq, Sukhpreet, Danish Sajad, Harsh, Mohd Areef, Zeeshan, Aman Singh, Anurudh Singh and Munish Jamwal clinched gold medals in boys category, whereas silver medals were secured by Koushik Tandon, Vasudh, Sachin Jasrotia, Kanav Singh, Ankit, Tushar, Jatin and Sharenj and Manan, Hamza, Balish Kumar, Rishab Jasrotia and Vasu bagged bronze medals.
In girls category, Subina and Chahat Jasrotia won gold medals, while Ishita & Haseena clinched silvers and Priya Devi clinched bronze medal.
