Kathua boy makes history

JAMMU, Sept 18:   Siddharth Singh, a local boy from Kathua City, has made history by being the first student from J&K State to be elected as the Prime Minister of the prestigious Hindu College, Delhi University.
The Hindu College is unique in the country in having a college parliament for which PM is elected from among the students while Principal of the College is the President and a senior faculty member as its Speaker.
Siddharth is in the final year of B.Sc. Hons (Botany). Siddharth was actively associated with organizing various college festivals during the previous year and as member of the college NSS, he has opted to teach children from Slums in Delhi and to educate the slum dwellers about heath and hygiene. He joined Hindu College in Delhi University in 2011 after completing his schooling from St. Xaviers Convent School, Kathua. His father is a College Professor and mother a school teacher.
