JAMMU, Nov 26: Annual Inter-School Conclave ‘KARISHMA-2013’ of Uri Tehsil was inaugurated with great fanfare at the Uri Stadium today.
A unique initiative by the Army, the festival aims to provide a platform to the young students to showcase their talent.
The Conclave will be held over the three days involving participation by all four educational zones of Uri. Competitions will be held for debate, quiz and extempore speech in the academic section & cricket, volleyball & tug-of-war in the sports section. The zones will also be competing for best painting and Science projects.
Speaking at the Conclave, Brig R K Singh, Cdr, Kalapahar Brigade said that “KARISHMA-2013” was a dream come true for him. He hoped that the conclave will become an annual feature in the Uri Academic Calendar and students will look forward to participating in it. He also hoped that the event will grow in scale and many more events will be added in the future.
The opening day saw a vibrant mass display set to good music and was followed by debate and extempore speech competition.
