Karate Association organises Anti Doping Seminar

JAMMU, Dec 21: Karate Association organized an Anti Doping Seminar during J&K State Karate Championship 2018, here.
The Seminar cum Camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr Sanjogita Sudan, Sports Medicine Specialist, Vice President Krida Bharti, Vice President J&K Hockey Association, Ex Chairman Anti Doping Commission IABF for 10 yrs, 1st ITO from India, Chairman Medical commission, Indian Boxing Council, Doctor for London Olympics Asian Games 2010.
The Seminar was held under the chairmanship of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, Vice President AKAJK along with Organizing Secretary, Vishal Sharma.
Dr Sanjogita emphasized on not taking any kind of protein supplements for sports.
She said that diet should be body friendly and players should positively listen to their coaches and clean eating habits should be infused in them right from the beginning.
“Any kind of supplements required during practice should only be taken under the supervision of prescribed sports doctors /physicians,” she added.
Prominent among others, the Seminar was attended by ace Karatekas including Poonam Salathia and Azmat Bibi, the medal winners in Commonwealth Karate at Durban, South Africa, besides Sahil Singh , Isra Bint, Palvi Sharma former AKF player, Tushar Jandyal, Abhijeet Singh, Irfaan and Rajat Singh.
All the coaches and referees were also briefed with the details of anti doping and diet set up of the players.
The vote of thanks was presented by Suraj Prakash, General Secretary Kathua District Karate Association.
