Kapil shines in Ocean Swimming C’ship at Indonesia

JAMMU, June 5: Ace athlete of the J&K, Kapil Arora has brought laurels to India by winning 3rd position in Ocean Swimming Championship held at Bali, Indonesia.
Kapil took this challenge head on, battled through the unrelenting waves and not only completed 1.2 km swim but secured a podium win and became only Indian in the competition to win rank 3rd in his age category. There were athletes from many counties, like Holland, Australia and Indonesia who participated in the competition.
He became the first from Jammu to win International Ocean Competition. Kapil is a gold medal winner at TATA Mumbai Marathon 2023. He has already completed 67 Marathons and half Marathons, four Ultra Marathons in South Africa, a distance of 90 km non-stop running and he holds the title ‘Iron Man’ which he has finished four times across the globe.
Kapil said that his next target is to swim ultra-long distances from India to Sri Lanka via the Ocean, which is a distance of 29 km non-stop swim.
