*Kotarani CC outplays Laleshwari Club in inaugural tie

JAMMU, Mar 5: Kapil Sharma, Managing Director, J&K Medical Supply Corporation Limited and Prof Meenakshi Kilam, former Head JU’s Kathua Campus, along with Zorawar Singh, Chairman Team Jammu and Pradeep Dutta, Senior Journalist inaugurated the Kashmiri Pandit Premier League (KPPL) ‘Herath Milan’ Cup at MA Stadium, here today.
The event, in which five teams each in women and children category are taking part, is being organized by Lalitaditya Sports, Education and Health Organization (LSEHO), under the overall supervision of Anil Bhat, President LSEHO. In the inaugural match of women, Mata Kotarani Cricket Club defeated Mata Laleshwari Cricket Club in an easy contest by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Laleshwari Cricket Club bundled out for paltry total of 34 runs in 8 overs. Rinku Pandita top scored with 7 runs, while no other batter showed against disciplined bowling by the rival bowlers.
Asma Malik was the pick of the bowlers who took 4 wickets, while Deepika Raina bagged 3 wickets and Konika claimed 2 wickets. In reply, Mata Kotarani Cricket Club chased the target easily in 4 overs, without losing any wicket, thus won the match by 10 wickets. Asma Malik and Preeti Pandita remained unbeaten on 14 and 9 runs respectively. For her splendid all-round show, Asma Malik was adjudged as the woman of the match.
