JAMMU, Feb 8: Kahpota Club defeated Baggain Club by (3-2) sets in summit clash and lifted the ‘Khelo Khel Bhulo Nasha Volleyball Friendship Championship for Rural Youths’, organized by District Police Jammu under the supervision of Vivek Gupta, SSP Jammu.
The organizing committee of the championship includes Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer, Raj Paul Singh Dy.SP Headquarters Jammu, YS Slathia SDPO Nagrota, DySP DAR Jammu, Ajay Singh Chib SHO Jhajjar Kotli and Om Raj.
The objective of the championship was to provide platform to the rural youths to explore hidden talent and to involve the young generation in sports activities to not to derail from the mainstream.
Shivdeep Singh SP Rural was the chief guest in the valedictory function, while Vinay Kumar, SP Operation was the guest of honour on the occasion.
The chief guest distributed the cash prizes, uniforms and medals to the finalists in presence of Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer, Vice Principal of Higher Secondary School Dansal,Yashveer Singh Slathia, Bushan Manhas SHO Nagrota, Ajay Singh Chib SHO Jajjar Kotli, Suresh Sharma I/C PP Manwal and Bhalwan Singh,Angrej Singh (Sarpanches) and Vijay Sharma, Suresh Kumar (Naib Sarpanches).
The cash prize of Rs.5000 along with the winner’s trophy was awarded to the Kahpota Club, while the cash prize of Rs 3000 along with the runners-up trophy was awarded to the rival team.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest advised the participants to be alert and do not fall prey to drug peddlers, who always try to trap the innocent students.
Sarpanch Dansal Balwan Singh and Sarpanch Chhurta Angrez Singh also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the Jammu Police and SSP Jammu for organizing the Volleyball Championship for the rural youths.
Earlier in the final match, Kahpota Club defeated Baggain Club by 3-2 sets in a very tough contest and clinched the title trophy.
Kulbushan Sharma officiated the final match.
