Kabaddi tournament organized at Ghagwal

SAMBA, Apr 29: Samba Police today organized a Kabaddi tournament under Civic Action Programme (CAP) at Govt. Degree College Ghagwal, here today.
SSP Samba Benam Tosh, Additional SP Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP DAR Ajay Anand, and SHO Ghagwal Bharat Bhushan presented cash rewards along with trophies and certificates to the players in the presence of BDC Chairman Suresh Kumar, Ex-OBC Chairman Rashpal Verma, ZPEO Vikas Gupta, Headmaster Girls High School Ghagwal, Manohar Lal, Sarpanch Sangwali Tarsem Singh and Ex-Sarpanch Jia Lal.
A total of eight teams from different areas of the district participated in the tournament, which was played on a knockout basis.
Four league matches were played among the teams including Future Fighter Vs Parshuram Club, Narsingh Club Vs Shine Seven, Hanuman Club Vs KV Samba and GDC Ghagwal Vs Tapyal Club, wherein Future Fighter, Narsingh Club, Hanuman Club and GDC Ghagwal emerged as winner in their respective matches.
In two semi-final matches played between Future Fighter Vs Hanuman Club and GDC Ghagwal Vs in Narsingh Club. Future Fighter and Narsingh Club won their respective matches and reached the final of the tournament. The final match of the tournament was won by Narsingh Club.
SSP Samba Benam Tosh said that police would organize more youth-oriented events in the district with the main objective of infusing determination among the youth to stay away from drug abuse and bad company under all circumstances.
The SSP also congratulated all the players for exhibiting a high degree of team spirit during the tournament. “The aim of organizing such sports events is to provide a platform to the youth to explore their hidden talent and nourish their capabilities to be utilized for the betterment of the society and eradication of drug menace once and for all,” he said.
The people of the area thanked the police for organizing such sports events in their area and requested to organize similar activities in days to come as well.
