JAMMU, Feb 1: Kabaddi Gold Cup Championship in boys and girls sections, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association commenced here today.
The championship was inaugurated by chief guests Asgar Ali, Former MLC and Anil Gupta, President J&K Amateur Kabbadi Association in the presence of Surinder Mohan Gupta, General Secretary of the Association, Nicco Demes PDP leader, Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, CEO of J&K Kabbadi Association, Sangram Singh, Treasurer, Sandeep Singh, Chairman Anti Dope Committee, Naveen Sharma, Observer of the tournament, Dinesh Gupta, Jammu District Secretary, Anil Modi, Organizing Secretary, Rakesh Sharma (International Player) Joint Secretary, Anil Sharma, Kabbadi Coach, Ajay Gupta, Kabbadi Coach, Anuradha, Kabbadi Trainer, Poonam Jamwal, Kabbadi Trainer, Shashi Sharma, Coach, Dharmjeet Singh, Coach, Manik Sharma, Coach and Rakesh Kumar, Commentator.
In Sub Juniors boys, BV Mandir got walk over, Sunrise Higher Secondary School defeated SNS Camp Road by 30 points, Playway House smashed Tez Public School by 10 points, Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra beat Guru Nanak School by 10 points, VB high School defeated Tinyt Tots by 29 points, Cooperative Public School beat Anuradha School by 19 points, Cooperative Public School No 2 beat Sarvodaya Public School by 3 points, KV Number 1 Gandhi Nagar beat Modern Education High School by 36 points, whereas in girls section, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir beat Government Girls Higher Secondary School by 20 points, Government Girls Model Higher Secondary School beat Luthra Academy by 10 points, KV No 1 Gandhi Nagar beat Government Model Higher Secondary School by 21 points and Government Girls Model Higher Secondary School beat Jagriti Mission School by 28 points.
In Junior boys, Unique Public School beat Deshmash Vidya Mandir by 35 points, Vishaw Bharti School beat Government Higher Secondary School Pul Tawi by 23 points and Gandhi Memorial School beat Nowabad Talab Tillo by 22 points, whereas in girls section, SOS Herman beat Prade College by 27 points, Gandhi Nagar College beat Bhartiya Vidya Mandir by 23 points and KV No 1 Gandhi Nagar beat SOS Herman by 18 points.
