SRINAGAR, July 5: Wushu Association of India (WAI) will hold the selection trials for the Junior Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (JKUT) Wushu team on July 6 and 7 at Sher-e- Kashmir Sports Complex Srinagar.
The selection trials were held for the 22nd Junior National Wushu Championship scheduled to be held in Patna from 6 to 11 August 2023. The Wushu Association of Jammu and Kashmir has constituted selection committee for conducting trials and selected Kuldeep Handoo as Chairman of the committee and six other members such as Maqsood Rather, Faisal Ali, Kamal Kishore, Ajaz Hassan, Abhishek Singh Jamwal and one of members as Observer from Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC).
As per officials, there were around 19 districts that are likely to participate in the selection trials and selection of players will be based on the specific and physical tests. The pre-participation coaching camp will commence at Srinagar from 10 July.
During the last edition of the Championship, J&K UT had emerged as overall 3rd in the competition. However, players are advised to bring a date of birth certificate, medical fitness certificate and Aadhar card alongwith themselves.
