JU thrashes PU Patiala by 27 runs

JAMMU, Nov 22: Splendid 90 runs partnership between skipper Rajesh Salhotra and Vishal Sudan helped Jammu University Employees team to beat Punjab University Patiala by 27 runs to register 3rd consecutive victory in the ongoing All India Vice Chancellors T-20 cricket tournament 2019, being organised by Shivaji University Kohlapur in Maharashtra.
Batting first, Jammu University scored good total of 170 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Vishal Sudan scored 60 runs, while Rajesh Salhotra and Aman Singh scored 35 and 28 runs respectively. Aman Singh played an explosive innings and sent the bowlers on a leather-hunt. Sumit Sharma also chipped in with 15 runs.
In reply, PU Patiala were bundled out for 143 runs.   From JU, Mohd Iliyas took 4 important wickets, while Pawan Singh, Niranjan Singh, and Balwant Singh took two wickets each. Vishal Sudan was declared as the man of the match.
Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor Jammu University and Prof RK Ganjoo, Register JU congratulated the team for this win. Sham Lal Sharma Manager, Jarnail Singh, Assistant Manager and Gurmeet Singh, Mentor of the team lauded the efforts of the players for such a brilliant victory.
Pawan Singh Bhau, President JUNTEU also congratulated the team for this achievement.
