JAMMU, Dec 17: Men cricket team of Jammu University won its second match against DAV Jalandhar by 8 wickets during the ongoing North Zone Inter University Tournament, organized by MDU Rohtak.
Batting first, DAV Jalandhar scored 120 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Aakash scored 27 runs, while Sourav chipped in 13 runs and Kunal made 13 runs.
For Jammu University, Henan Malik, Manjeet Kotwal and Jaggar Khan took 2 wickets each and Manpreet scalped 1 wicket.
In reply, Jammu University chased the target in 12.1 overs for the loss of only 2 wickets and won the match by 8 wickets. Henan Malik scored unbeaten 82 runs, while Jagjit made 19 runs.
For DAV Jalandhar, Akash took 1 wicket.
Earlier in the first match on December15, Jammu University team beat GBU Noida by 42 runs. In this match Henan Malik scored 70 runs and was declared as Man of the Match. Manjeet Kotwal of JU took 4 wickets which include hatrick and Jaffar Khan scalped 2 wickets.
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu congratulated the team and applauded the efforts of players and coach of the team. He asked them to exhibit their best skills in rest of the matches.
