JAMMU, Mar 15: The Korfball team of University of Jammu clinched bronze medal in the All India Inter-University Korfball Tournament, held at Osmania University Hyderabad.
Earlier, JU team defeated Delhi University convincingly in the semifinal.
The Jammu University team comprised of the players including Abhishek Jasrotia, Shubhankar Sharma, Neelashwar Singh Bhau, Abhiudhay Verma, Manavdeep Singh, Akhil Manhas, Usman Rashid, Divkaran Singh, Sudhashi Khajuria, Dikshita Raina, Purvashi Sharma, Rushali Mengi, Sakshi Bhan, Shivani Sharma, Sucheta Sharma and Insha Iqbal.
The team was accompanied by Irfan Choudhary as coach and Mohit Singh Bhau as manager.
The medal was presented to the team by A. Venkateshwar Reddy, Chairman Sports Authority of Telangana; Dr KL Laxman, MLA; Prof Choudhary Gopal Reddy, Registrar Osmania University; Prof T Krishna Rao, OSD to Vice Chancellor Osmania University and Dr V. Kaul, Observer, Association of Indian Universities.
