JAMMU, Dec 23: Jammu University cagers displayed extraordinary caging and dribbling skills to register its third consecutive win and enter quarterfinals in the North Zone Inter-University Basketball Championship at Banur in Punjab, today.
Now, in the quarterfinals, Jammu University will take on Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi, last season’s qualifiers for the All India Championship.
Earlier, Jammu University defeated Kumoun University Nanital in the third round by a big margin of 43 points, with the final score reading (87-44) in favour of Jammu University.
Both the teams fought hard in the first quarter and the score leveled at 12 all. However, the players of Jammu University showed guts and grit and came back strongly to help their team end the first half with (38-20) in their favour.
Amanjot Singh was the star performer for Jammu University, who scored 21 points, while Shubham Sharma and Rohan Kundal scored 15 points each.
