JP Cricket League Season-2 concludes

JAMMU, Jan 13: JP Cricket League Season-2 culminated at Birla Open Minds International School here today which was organised with a unique and impactful motive – “Say No to Drugs.” inspired by LG, Manoj Sinha’s, ‘Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’. The league aims to leverage the popularity of cricket to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promote a healthier lifestyle.
Organized by BOMIS, the JP Cricket Premier League brought together cricket enthusiasts from across the region to not only celebrate the spirit of the sport but also to contribute towards a significant social cause.
Ranjeet Kalra, Member of J&K Sports Council was chief guest for the event. He addressed the gathering and complimented the school for working for such a noble cause. He added that it is important for all of us to come together and eliminate the use of drug from our society.
The participating teams were HDFC Challengers, JP Panthers, Birla Sunrisers, JK Indians, Legal Stars, Media Cricket Club and Victorian Knights.
“This league goes beyond the boundaries of the cricket field; it’s a platform to amplify the message of saying no to drugs. We believe in the power of sports to influence positive change, and through this league, we aim to engage the community in a collective effort against drug abuse,” stated Aparana Kohli, the School’s Principal.
The first match was played between HDFC Challengers and JP Panthers where HDFC Challengers won the match. Second match was played between Legal Stars and Victorian Knights wherein Victorian Knights won. Third match was played between JK Indians and Media Cricket Club where JK Indians won the match.
The first semi final was played between HDFC Challengers and Birla Sunrisers wherein HDFC Challengers won the match. The second semi final was played between Victorian Knights and JK Indians where JK Indians won. The final match was played between HDFC Challengers and JK Indians in which JK Indians won the match and clinched the trophy.
