Jodhamal shines at WELMUN 2019

JAMMU, Aug 8: Jodhamal School delegates participated for the third time in the Welham Boys’ Model United Nations Conference, popularly known as WELMUN, which hosted its fifth edition, recently.
The Jodhamal Public School delegation escorted by Bhawna Madaan and Sachin Dogra was the only delegation from Jammu that participated and competed with famous schools from different parts of the country.
The participating Schools included the Punjab Public School, Mayo College Girls, Mayo College Boys, Modern School Vasant Vihar, Shiv Nadar, Welham Girls, Welham Boys, Selaqui International School, The Doon School, Doon International, Unison School, Delhi Public School, Maharani Gayatri Devi, Pine Grove, Rajmata Krishna Kumari, Delhi Sanskriti School and Daly College Indore.
The WELMUN convened eight distinct and challenging committees, like UNSC, UNGA 1 -DISEC, ECOSOC, UNW, UNPBC, IP and the Council of Hindustan-a fictional crisis committee in which Jodhamal delegates Prabin Singh and Mohd Raza received honourable mention and Arsh Mir received Verbal Mention in his committee.
The other delegates like Saba Jamwal, Gungun Anand, Karmanya Wahi , Sai Sharan and Kartik Singh did equally well and gave a tough competition to the delegates from prestigious schools and proved their excellence in public speaking skills, simulations and also collaborated with other school delegates to find ways to foster fraternity in fractured VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) World with a hope that the delegates feel accomplished in their efforts to think and propose solutions to resolve complex global issues.
