JAMMU, Aug 27: Jodhamal Public School emerged winners of the 1st PEFI Inter-school Cricket championship, organised by Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI) in collaboration with Trikuta Cricket and Football Academy and Elite Sports at Railway Stadium, here today.
Today’s final match was played between Jodhamal Public School Jammu and Heritage School Jammu. After winning the toss, Jodhamal School decided to bat first. Jodhamal School was all out for 117 runs in 18.4 overs wherein Aarit Nagpal scored 41 runs. Laksh and Sanam scored 23 and 10 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Arman Sharma took 4 wickets, Parth and Abhiroop took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Heritage School were all out on 115 in 18 overs. Arman scored 44 runs, while Aksh scored 17 runs. From the bowling side, Madhur took 4 wickets, while Sanam took 3 wickets and Tegvansh took 2 wickets. Thus Jodhamal won the match by 2 runs.
Madhur of Jodhamal was awarded with man of the match, while best bowler award went to Aksh of Heritage School and best batsman award was clinched by Aashutosh of Delhi Public School, besides player of the tournament award went to Abhishek Kumar of Stephens School.
The officials of the match were Balbir Singh, Dalvir Thakur, Siddharth and Aditya. The tournament is being organized by Physical Education Foundation of India (J&K Chapter) under the overall supervision of Sukomal Ganguly (Provincial Secretary PEFI Jammu).
