JAMMU, July 21: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) organized quiz competition in collaboration with Govt. College for Women, Parade, here today.
Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was the chief guest, while Municipal Commissioner, Soujanya Sharma was the guest of honour.
There were four teams participating in the quiz competition. Team A comprised of Siarat and Arushi, B comprised of Gasha and Mehak, C of Mutkeea and Zaheea and team D comprised of Sonia and Pragati.
The first prize of Rs. 3000 was won by team C, while second prize of Rs. 2000 went to team A and the third prize of Rs. 1000 was won by team D. 4th and final prize of Rs. 500 (consolation) was claimed by team B.
In addition, the Speaker also gave cash prize of Rs. 1000 to each team in the competition from his own pocket.
While speaking on the occasion, the Speaker appreciated the Jammu Municipal Corporation as well as Govt College for Women, Parade for conducting such type of quiz competition which highlighted the features of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The Municipal Commissioner, JMC thanked the Speaker for sparing his precious time to encourage the organizers as well the participants and he appealed not to use polythene which is the main cause of choking of drains/nallahs and causes serious health hazards.
The programme was co-ordinated by Associate Professor, Dr. Sania Khajuria, while Dr Hemla Aggarwal, Principal of the College presented vote of thanks.
Dr. Zaffar Iqbal was the quiz master, while Darshan Abrol, Sushil Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, Ankush Kapoor and Rachit Gupta were present on the occasion.
