JAMMU, June 24: Promising Lawn Tennis player of Jammu and Kashmir, Sumitpal Singh defeated Shashank Theertham of Andhra Pradesh to enter the second round of the ongoing Chennai Tennis Centre TTPPA All India Ranking National Series Under-16 Tournament at Avenue Sardar Patel Road, Anna University in Chennai.
Sumitpal drubbed his rival easily by (6-3, 6-1).
Sumitpal has been given seed 2 and draw is of 64 players.
In doubles, Sumitpal Singh alongwith his partner top seed Nitin Sinha of West Bengal is vying for the top honours.
