J&K’s ace Chess player Sumit Grover blossoms in Abu Dhabi

JAMMU, Aug 18: Talented Chess player of Jammu and Kashmir, Sumit Grover blossomed by winning silver medal in prestigious 26th Abu Dhabi International Open Chess Festival held at Abu Dhabi recently.
Sumit won silver medal in below 2100 rating category event by giving a brilliant performance, winning 6 rounds and drawing other three.
He scored 7.5 points out of 9 rounds to win a cash prize of 1500 US Dollars.
240 players drawn from around 25 countries took part in this International Chess Festival.
President AJKCA, Atul Kumar Gupta and other office bearers of the Association including Baldev Raj, Kuljeet Singh Jamwal and Vikas Nanda while felicitating the champion at Hotel Nek Jammu, lauded his efforts for brilliant show.
