KATRA, Oct 24: 73rd Annual Smailpur Kesari Vishal Dangal 2014 was organized by Smailpur Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Government Higher Secondary School Smailpur, under the overall supervision of president of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Balwant Singh Manhas, president of Smailpur Dangal Committee.
Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police clinched the 73rd Annual Smailpur Kesari Vishal Dangal Title by defeating wrestler Major of Ludhiana in Punjab in 12 minutes bout.
A total of 73 bouts were played and around 146 wrestlers from within and outside the State participated.
MLA Surjit Singh Slathia was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function. These dignitaries awarded a motor cycle to winner Benia, while runners-up wrestler Major was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000.
