JAMMU, Jan 24: JKP Seniors XI registered emphatic win against Secretariat Seniors XI, while Aircel XI defeated Evershine Club in the ongoing 2nd JKP New Year Veteran T20 Cup, being played at Parade Ground , here today.
The tournament in which 6 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department and Aircel.
The Organizing Committee includes Hilal Rather, Sanjay Mahajan, Rajesh Gill, Rajesh Dhar, David Mattoo, Asif Gill, RP Singh, Sunil Sambyal, Anand Tripathi and Sunny Gill.
Earlier, Rakesh Kumar Singh Sales Head Aircel Jammu was the chief guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams .
In the first match, JKP Seniors defeated Secretariat Seniors XI by huge margin of 149 runs .
Batting first, JKP Seniors Club scored a big total of 223 runs in stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ishtiaq scored brilliant 110 runs, studded with 5 sixes, while Manzoor contributed 49 runs to the total. Yaqub took 2 wickets for Secretariat XI, while Imtiaz, Abid and Shokat shared one wicket .
Secretariat Sr. XI, in reply collapsed at 74 runs in 17.2 overs, thus lost the match by 149 runs. Sunil took 3 wickets, Shamsher Singh Manhas bagged 2 wickets, while Rajesh Gill and Arshad shared 1 wicket each for JKP Seniors. Istiaq was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant century in the match.
In the second match, Aircel Seniors XI scripted a thrilling win against Evershine Seniors XI.
Batting first, Aircel XI scored 131 runs in allotted 18 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Anand Tripathi (40) and Rakesh (32) were the main scorers. Hardeep, Parshotam and Narinder shared one wicket each for Evershine.
Evershine managed to score 120 runs in the allotted 18 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus lost the match by 11 runs, with Parshotam 32 and Vicky 24, emerging as the main scorers. Rakesh took two wickets, while Anand, Banu and Koushal shared 1 wicket each. Rakesh was adjudged as man of the match .
The matches were officiated by Saleem-Ur-Rehman, Sadiq Hussain, Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Sunil and Danny..
In tomorrow’s fixture of the 4th Eid Diwali Christmas T20 Cup, YCC will take on Shenshah Club at 8.30 am, JK Assembly XI will meet Bahu Fort Cricket Club at 12.15 pm, and Janipur Club will face Secretariat Blue XI at 2.30 pm.
