JKCPL organisers modify bidding process for team formation

SRINAGAR, June 14: The organizers of Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) have made some changes in the bidding process of team formations, here today.
As per the modification, every team will comprise of 18 players with 3 current Ranji trophy players, one outside State or Overseas player, one current JKCA Under-15 player, 2 current JKCA Under-19 players, 5 Ex National players (JKCA) and 6 local players.
However, in the final eleven, playing at least one current Under-19 JKCA player and two local players is mandatory.
Meanwhile, as per the organizers, the key player of each team will get the highest bid amount plus 25 percent, while 5 players including 3 Ranji trophy, one Under-25 and one Under-19 player will be distributed among the Franchisees by the technical committee of the league. However, if any Franchisee wants to buy the player allotted to other Franchisee, it will be done through bidding process.
One outside State player will be signed by the Franchisees themselves, while the rest of the 11 players to be part of the Franchisees team will have to be bought by the respective teams through competitive bidding among selected pool of the players.
In case there is a tie in bidding for a particular player among two or more Franchisees, the draw of lots will be the decider.
“A group of three members of the Franchisee including key player, sports head and the Franchisee owner or his authorized representative will be permitted to take part in the bidding process,” said Abdul Qayoom Bagow, organizing secretary of the event.
