JKAP XI, Gurdaspur register wins

KATHUA, Dec 26: Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) XI and Gurdaspur XI scripted wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 3rd Police Martyrs’ Memorial North Zone T20 Championship, being organized by District Police Kathua at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first match JKAP-XI drubbed Jallandhar Cricket Association in a tough contest. Batting first, JCA set a target of 132 runs in 20 overs which was chased successfully by JKAP-XI in 19.4 overs. Rompy of JKAP-XI was declared man of the match for scoring 35 runs and taking one wicket. He was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1500 and man of the match trophy
Meanwhile, the second match was played between Gurdaspur XI and JKP-XI, wherein Gurdaspur XI was declared winner after the controversy over the bad light. Batting first, Gurdaspur XI set a target of 114 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets, while in reply JKP XI could not complete the full quota of overs despite having wickets in hand due to bad light. Matoo of Gurdaspur XI was declared man of the match taking 3 wickets. He was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1500 and man of the match trophy on the occasion.
