KATRA, Sept 21: Wrestler Farooq of Sarore, Jammu lifted 51st Annual Katal Batal, Nagrota Dangal Title 2015, defeating Wrestler Anku of Himachal Pradesh in the main bout that lasted for 17 minutes at village Later Kala (near River Tawi Bank), Nagrota, today.
Vishal Dangal was organized by Katal Batal Dangal Committee in Collobration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Katal Batal Kulbushan Singh.
Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Jammu Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes among winners and runners-up wrestlers. Retd. DySP Mangal Singh presided over the function, while Director Distance Education Jammu University Vijay Deep Singh and Social Activist and wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma were the guests of honour.
Winner of 1st malli bout wrestler Farooq was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 12,000 by Shiv Kumar Sharma, Sukhdev Singh and Sarpanch Kulbushan Singh while runner-up wrestler Anku was awarded with cash prize of Rs. 9,000/- by Mangal Singh, Vijay Deep Singh and Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri).
In the end Sukhdev Singh presented Vote of Thanks.
