J&K to host nationals in Football, Cricket

JAMMU, June 11: J&K will host nationals in football and cricket during the current fiscal.
The decision was taken in the two day long 61st Executive Committee and General Council meeting of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) held at Assam.
President, SGFI Padmashree Satpal presided over the meeting whileas Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Transport and Excise, Government of Assam Ajit Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. SGFI General Secretary Dr Rajesh Mishra, Commissioner Secretary, Olympic champion (Wrestler) Sushil Kumar and Director General Department of J&K Youth Services and Sports Jahangir Mir also joined the dice for the two day long meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues including National calendar of sports activities to be conducted during the year 2015-16.
The Apex Committee finalized the calendar and allotment of various events to be conducted in different States whereas State of Jammu and Kashmir has been allotted Nationals in U-19 Football (Boys) U-19 and U-17 Cricket (Girls).
Besides this inclusion of Water Sports in the SGFI calendar of activities was agreed and Senior Vice President of SGFI was nominated as Coordinator for the same. Moreover Inclusion of Mustudi and Water Sports also came under discussion during the two day meet.
Among others present were Senior Vice President Ashok Kumar from J&K and Deputy Director J&K Youth Services and Sports Haji Mirza.
