J&K team remains Champion in Nat’l Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 16: The J&K Taekwondo team remained overall champion in the 1st Dadra & Nagar Haveli Open National Taekwondo Championships-2021by securing 9 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal, organised at Dadra Nagar Haveli.
The team was led by Master Atul Pangotra (International Taekwondo coach) of Youth Services & Sports Department. He was also the Technical Director of the said event, whereas Harish Tokas assisted the team as coach along with Zaheer Abbas Khan.
On arrival at Jammu, the team and coaches got a rousing welcome at Brahmin Pratinidhi Sabha Parade by the Taekwondo Association of J&K.
In Kyorugi event, Suhel (senior under-58), Omprakash (senior under-63), Shivang Singh (senior over 87), Suryaansh Victor Sharma (cadet over 65), Sahil Singh (senior under 80), Aryan Singh Chib (cadet under-65), Kartik Sharma (junior under-78), Achutam Dev Singh (junior under-48), Kushagra Sharma (junior under-63), Rishi Singh (junior under-73), Aftab Eqbal (junior over-78), Paras Sharma (junior under-55) and Saanvi Sharma (cadet female over-59) secured Gold medals, whereas Anmol Yadav (senior male under-54) won Silver and Anandit Sharma (junior male under-73) bagged Bronze medal besides Aftab Eqbal (senior male under-68) stood 5th.
In poomsae event, Soham Sharma (junior male under-45) won Bronze medal, while Achutam Dev Singh (junior male team poomsae), Kushagra Sharma (junior male team poomsae), Soham Sharma (junior male team poomsae), Soham Sharma (junior male individual poomsae), Ritambra Sharma (sub junior female team poomsae), Nitya Nand Vardhyani (sub junior female team poomsae) and Mannat Umul Fatima (sub junior female team poomsae) clinched Gold medals.
