JAMMU, Jan 10: The formidable side of J&K SRTC and Churchill Brothers scripted solitary goal wins over their rivals in the ongoing 11th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, organized by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College, here.
In the first match played today, Churchill Brothers FC got the better of Engineers XI by one goal to nil (1-0). The goal was scored by Adonis Mattoo in 38th minute of the match.
In another pre-quarterfinal match, J&K SRTC defeated Titan Sports Anantnag again by one goal to nil (1-0). The goal was scored by Parvez Ahmed in 31st minute of the match.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Ricky Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Moon Stephen, Romesh Kumar, Sanjay Kumar and Dinesh.
The dignitaries who witnessed today’s match included Mr Showkat, Secretary Sports, J&K Bank; SM Gill, Ex MLC; Sheikh Mehmood, President Jammu District Football Association; David Masih, Feastus Sotra, Rajesh Kumar, Harbans Lal, Yousuf Don, Charan Dass, Narinder Gupta and Varinder Gupta.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Vijay Club will take on Kanwal Sports Anantnag at 1:30 pm, while Young Hero’s will face Param FC at 3 pm at the same venue.
