JAMMU, Nov 4: J&K Specially Abled team registered third consecutive win and reached the semi-finals of the ongoing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Inter-State Cricket Championship by defeating Tamil Nadu by 53 runs at KD Singh Babu Stadium Lucknow, today.
Batting first, J&K scored 171 runs by losing 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs wherein Jaffar Bhat made splendid 78 runs, while Majid scored 36 runs and Wasim contributed 26 runs. From the bowling side, Saravaran, while Jaya Kanthan took 2 wickets and Munish took 1 wicket.
In reply Tamil Nadu Team managed to score only 118 runs in the allotted overs in which P.Victor made highest 38 runs and Jaya Kanthan scored 27 runs, while Shamanjun contributed 22 runs. From the bowling side, Wasim and Zahoor took 2 wickets each, Amir, Nadeem and Nikhil took 1 wicket each. Thus J&K won the match by 53 runs. Jaffar Bhat was declared as man of the match and was awarded Rs.10000.
Now, the J&K team will play its last league match against Gujarat tomorrow.
