SRINAGAR, Feb 9: On the opening day of National Ski and Snowboarding Championship, the J&K Ski team bagged 3 bronze medals in junior events.
Arsalan Manzoor won bronze medal in under-18 years boys category, while Sadiya Aijaz bagged bronze in under 18 girls category and Sana Afzal Mir clinched bronze in under-21 girls category.
Shoiab Rashid Malik missed gold medal as he was leading in the first race of Giant Slalom event but missed a gate on his second round and was disqualified.
The Winter Games Association of J&K expressed delight and congratulated the winners for this achievement.
Meanwhile, the association is holding Junior Federation Ski and Snowboarding Cup in 3rd week of February which will be followed by First-ever Khelo India (J&K Winter Games) in first week of March. Nearly 450 athletes and officials are expected to take part in this extravaganza snow sporting event.
The Association will hold 2nd South Kashmir Ski Championship shortly.
