JAMMU, Oct 20: Jammu and Kashmir registered a narrow win by 5 runs over Bihar in the ongoing Under-19 Men’s Vinoo Mankad Trophy at Mahajan Cricket Ground Chandigarh today.
Batting first, Jammu and Kashmir once again rode on a masterful half-century by Achintya Raj Khajuria and valuable 32 runs by skipper Mohd Mousab Bhat to score a modest total of 184 runs in 37.1 overs. Achintya scored 61 runs off 57 balls, studded with 7 fours and 3 sixes, while Mousab hit 4 boundaries in his knock.
Satyam Kumar was the pick of the bowlers for Bihar who took 4 wickets by conceding 46 runs in his 8 overs, while Anoop Kumar and Suman Kumar took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Bihar bundled out for 179 runs in 45.5 overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 5 runs. Taufique top scored with 63 runs off 75 balls, studded with 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Ahimesh Kumar contributed 26 runs.
For J&K, Salman Bakshi took 3 wickets, while Ritvik Jaitley and Tajamul Hussain bagged 2 wickets each. Laith August and Achintya Raj Khajuria claimed one wicket apiece.
