J&K scores 280/9 against Tripura

JAMMU, Feb 4: Riding on sedate 66 runs by debutant Jiyaad Nazir Magrey and valuable unbeaten 49 by all-rounder Abid Mushtaq and 46 by another all-round Auqib Nabi, Jammu and Kashmir managed to score 280/9 on day-1 of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group-C match against Tripura at MBB Stadium, Agartala.
Earlier, put into bat, Jammu and Kashmir lost opener Suryansh Raina early in the innings at 9/1, before another opener debutant Jiyaad and Shubham Khajuria took the score to 65 runs in 21.3 overs, when Khajuria was trapped LBW by AS Sarkar at his individual score of 40 runs. Then Jiyaad got the company of Shubham Singh Pundir and the duo took the score to 111 before Pundir was bowled by speedster MB Mura Singh at his individual score of 17 runs off 83 balls. Skipper Parvez Rasool was the next man to be dismissed at his indivual score of 17 runs and the team’s total of 144/4 in 52.6 overs. However, after the dismissal of Jiyaad at his individual score of 66 runs off 159 deliveries, studded with 10 fours, it were the two all-rounders Abid Mushtaq and Auqib Nabi, who helped the team to reach a respectable total of 280/9 at the draw of stumps on day-1 today.
Auqib scored magnificent 46 runs off 86 balls with the help of 7 boundaries, while Abid was unbeaten on 49 runs off 60 balls, which included 5 fours and 1 six. Abdul Samad (11) and Fazil Rashid (14) were the other two batsmen dismissed cheaply.
From Tripura, MB Mura Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets, while Harmeet Singh bagged 2. AS Sarkar, Rana Dutta and Saurav Das claimed 1 wicket apiece.

At Rohtak: Assam 97 all out in 37 overs (Rajjakuddin Ahmed 35 not out; Tinu Kundu 5/35; Harshal Patel 4/32) vs Haryana 198 for 9 in 46.3 overs (R P Sharma 59, Chaitanya Bishnoi 46, Harshal Patel 28; Ranjeet Mali 3/34, Mukthar Hussain 3/38, Siddarth Sarmah 3/65).
At Dehardun: Uttarakhand 83 all out in 23.4 overs (D Negi 21 not out; Raushan Raj 3/27, Diwesh Pathania 3/28) and 10 for no loss in 7 overs vs Services 173 all out in 52.2 overs (Rahul Singh Gahlaut 45, Mumtaz Qadir 37; Mayank Mishra 6/48).
At Pune: Odisha 220 for 5 in 88 overs (Shantanu Mishra 84 batting, Rajesh Dhuper 67 batting, Anurag Sarangi 41) vs Maharashtra.
At Jamshedpur: Chhattisgarh 238 for 4 in 78 overs (Harpreet Singh Bhatia 124 batting, Jiwanjot Singh 52) vs Jharkhand.
