SRINAGAR, Oct 8: J&K Police XI trounced Positive Kashmir FC by 3 goals to nil in a quarter-final match of the 1st Positive Kashmir Knockout Football Championship, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC under flood lights, here today.
As the match started, both the teams played with short passes, man to man marking, ball passing and trapping which kept the spectators spellbound. In the 15th minute, J&K Police XI was awarded a penalty kick for a gross offence by a defender. Nainjot of J&K Police XI made no mistake in converting the penalty kick and took the lead during the first half.
In the 2nd half Positive Kashmir FC kept their morale high and started attacking J&K Police goalposts but could not find the net. Faisal of J&K Police scored a marvellous goal in the 70 minute as well as dying moments of the game and registered win over their opponents by 3-0.
The tournament is being organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with Positive Kashmir (NGO).
Meanwhile, in the fourth match of the Pele of Kashmir League, the match between Old City FC and Hamdaniya FC remained goalless at Eidgah Playfield.
Meanwhile, in Khyber Milk Premier Football League being played at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar, Arco FC beat Novelty FC by 3 goals to 1. Ishfaq Teli, Waseem Haroon and Owais Ahmad were the scorers for Arco FC, while Alok secured a goal for Novelty FC.
Moreover, in ‘A’ Division Annual League football tournament, Pandrathan FC trounced Manzoor Towheed FC by 2 goals to nil at Gindun Stadium Rajbagh.
