J&K player secures Silver medals in National Amateur

JAMMU, Nov 16: J&K Chess player Soham Kamotra (14) won Silver medal in National Amateur, which concluded today at Jalandhar.
Kamotra was tied for the first spot with other player at same 9 points but unfortunately he came second on tie breaker rules and secured Silver medal.
A total of 154 players from 18 States participated in this National Amateur. He is the most promising boy of J&K as he won the State Chess Championship recently at Srinagar.
President All J&K Chess Association Atul Kumar and other members congratulated him for wonderful achievement and hoped that J&K players bring more and more laurels to the State in future also. He is student of DPS Jammu. Another player of J&K Sumit Grover got 8th position in this event.
