J&K fencers to represent India in World Fencing C’ship

JAMMU, Mar 31: The student of Class XII, Sufyan Waheed Sohil of Dewan Devi Higher Sec. School and Mayank Sharma, resident of Billawar, presently studying at GNDU Amritsar have been selected to represent India at international level in World Cadet and Junior Fencing Championship to be held at Plovdiv Bulgaria from April 1 to 9.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sufyan Waheed Sohil is presently under training at IS-NCOE Patiala under Khelo India Scheme since 2018, while Mayank Sharma is alumni of Mother Teresa Convent School Dharmari Billawar and presently pursuing his study in GNDU Amritsar Punjab.
Both the players are going to represent India at international level in the World Fencing Championship in which more than 70 countries are going to participate.
Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul appreciated the both the fencers for their selection in the upcoming world level championship and wished them good luck for the upcoming event.
Principal of the School, Seloni Suri congratulated Sufyan on his success and wished him a bright future ahead.
