J&K excels in 39th National Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, June 20: Jammu and Kashmir players excelled in 39th National Taekwondo Championship held at KD Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, recently.
The Championship, in which over 700 players took part, was held under the banner of Taekwondo Federation of India.
Twenty four states across the country participated in the Championship, out of which Jammu and Kashmir secured 3rd place.
J&K took part in the Championship under the supervision of Coach Gourav Arora.
Those who won gold medals included Divyani Singh, Satvik Verma, Atul Manhas, Lakshmi Salaria, Madhvi Chib and Payal Devi, while silver medals were bagged by Ridhima Chib, Kanaihya, Khushi and Rahul Magotra and the bronze medals went to Vidushi Verma, Simran and Jannat Manhas.
Umesh Chopra, Anil Kumar and Mukesh Okheda were the officials.
Senior Player Vinod Sharma, trainee of Gourav Arora was presented with Taekwondo Hall of Fame Achievement Award.
