*Kawalpreet clinches ‘Man of the Match’ title

JAMMU, June 8: Magnificent 42 runs inning off 23 balls by promising cricketer Kawalpreet Singh helped J&K to register win over Telangana in the keenly contested Under-14 league match and register berth in the next round of the ongoing 61st National School Games, being organized by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at Hayatnagar Ranga Reddy stadium, Telangana.
Batting first after winning the toss, J&K team led by skipper Praful Dhar made 83 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 10 overs. Kawalpreet Singh played a splendid inning of 42 runs in 23 balls, while Jugjap Singh chipped in 9 and Shivansh Sharma made 7 runs.
For Telangana side, Sai Ram and Jitender took 2 wickets by giving 22 runs in 2 overs, while Sai Pradip and Srikanth scalped 1 wicket each.
In the second inning, players of Telangana played well and strived to win, but lost the match by just 2 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 10 overs. Prajawal was the top scorer with 19 runs Vignash made 15, Suman 12 runs and Sai Ram scored 9 runs.
For J&K, Kawalpreet Singh also exhibited his bowling talent also and took 1 wicket by conceiving 11 runs in 2 overs. Praful Dhar, Musaif Ajaz, Jugjap and Aqib Manzoor also pocketed 1 wicket apiece.
Kawalpreet Singh of J&K was declared as man of the match for his magnificent batting and bowling performances.
