JAMMU, Oct 2: With an objective to channelise the energy of Christian Youth and help them not to derail from the mainstream, a Christian Sports Organisation was constituted in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Fr Kuriakose, Head Priest at Gandhi Nagar Church, here today.
Rev Bishop, Fr Peter Celestine was elected chief patron, Rev Vinay Sunny, Priest of CNI Church, Srinagar as patron and Fr Kuriakose, Head priest of Gandhi Nagar Church as Chairman.
Rev Vinu Koul, Priest of Srinagar Church was nominated Vice-Chairman, while Rajesh Gill, Former Ranji Player will be the President of the Organisation.
Victor Sotra was nominated Vice-President, Friedee (Srinagar) as general secretary.
Fr Kuriakose will be the Financial Advisor, Advocate Janak Raj Arora as Legal Advisor and Rajesh Dhar as Technical Advisor.
Asif Gill is the joint secretary of the organisation and Navin Athwal as treasurer, Vijay Koul (Srinagar), Babu, Bunty, Prince Athwal, William Mattoo (Jammu) will be the sports secretaries of the organisation.
Micheal, Benjamin and Sunil Mattoo will be Cricket selectors, while Elajah Sotra and Moon Stephen will be the Football Selectors and David and Elijah Sotra as Incharge of Cricket and Football Conduct Committee respectively.
Clint Mattoo, Amit, Nitu, Rakul,Anthony,Rinku Gill, Suhail, Ravi Manchanda will be the members.
Meanwhile, Rajesh Gill, President of the organisation announced that the Organization will be organizing Christmas Sports Festival during Christmas.
