JAMMU, May 14: J&K Amateur Fencing Association elected its new office bearers for the term of 4 years from 2023-27 in its annual general body meeting held at PWD Guest House, Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Nisha Sharma was elected as president, Bhanu Vijay Sharma as general secretary and Sanjay Gupta as treasurer of the Association. Other office bearers elected are Mohinder Sharma (senior vice president), Farhat Abbas and Jagdish Kumar (vice presidents) and Sameer Ahmed (joint secretary). The executive members elected are Omar Mukhtar, Rashid Malik, Fancy Jan, Ghulam Hassan, Rashmi Mahajan, Amaranth Bhagat, Ashok Kumar, Raj Singh and Surinder Kumar.
The AGM was held under the chairmanship of Anshuja Tak who was returning officer appointed by J&K Sports Council and it was observed by Ranjeet Kalra (Member, Sports Council), Ashok Singh Jamwal (Divisional Sports Officer of Sports Council) and Yudhvir Singh from J&K Olympic Association. There were 27 participants out of which 23 were physically present and 4 represented through authority letters.
It was resolved in the AGM that M J Sharma shall be appointed chief patron of the Association.
