SRINAGAR, Aug 31: Jhelum FC and Towheed FC trounced their rivals including Musuada Foundation FC and Hamdaniya FC convincingly by each two goals to nil (2-0) in the ongoing DFA Annual Football League, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today.
The 1st match was played between Jhelum Sports FC and Musuada Foundation FC. Both the teams played quality games and missed some good chances. In the 36th minute of the 1st half of the game, Abid Ahmad of Jhelum FC scored a magnificent goal, while in the 40th minute, the Jhelum FC consolidated their lead by scoring another goal through Arman. However, the Musuada Foundation FC tried their best to find the net but could not penetrate the solid defence of Jhelum FC. The match ended with Jhelum FC defeating Musuada Foundation FC by 2 goals to nil.
The 2nd match was played between Towheed FC and Hamdaniya FC wherein both the teams played at aggressive note and tried hard to take lead over their opponent, but both the teams failed to find the net. In the dying moments of the game, Towheed FC scored back to back two goals and defeated Hamdaniya FC by 2-0 goals.
The tournament is organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
