JCC registers 5 runs win over KCC in nail-biting summit clash

JAMMU, July 30: Jourian Cricket Club (JCC) registered 5 runs win over Khour Cricket Club (KCC) in a nail biting summit clash of the Jammu Motors Cup, organized by Daskal Cricket Club at Tehsil Akhnoor.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, JCC scored 114 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Bhanu scored 28 runs off 25 balls, while Randeep Singh chipped in 24 runs in 18 balls and Sagar made 20 runs off 21 balls.
For KCC side, Billa was the pick of the bowler, who scalped 3 wickets, while Dinesh, Chikku, Pankaj and Arvind took one wicket each.
In reply, KCC strived hard to win the match but failed and bundled out at 109 runs by losing all the wickets in 19.4 overs. Surinder played a magnificent inning of 42 runs off 40 balls, while Pankaj made 28 runs in 39 balls and Mannu chipped in 14 runs in 17 balls.
For JCC side, Sagar and Randeep shared 3 wickets each.
Randeep Singh of JCC was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance, while Vivek Sharma bagged Man of the Series award.
The match was officiated by Sonu Malhotra and Pankaj Sharma as umpires, while Rocky maintained the scorecard.
On the valedictory function, Sham Lal Sharma, Senior Vice President JKPCC and former Minister was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winner and runner up teams vis-à-vis players. A cash prize of Rs 12000 and trophy was presented to winner team, while Rs 8000 and a trophy was awarded to runner-up team.
Senior players namely Sham Singh Langeh and Sonu Malhotra were also honoured by the organizing committee.
Kuldeep Sharma, Ex-Sarpanch Daskal was the guest of honor on the occasion.
While speaking, Sham Lal Sharma said that youth of the State despite having lot of interest in sports and allied activities and valour and zest for doing better, hardly get much opportunity to showcase their talent and skill, because people around them are least bothered to organize quality tournaments to provide them platform to hone their skill.
Former Minister exhorted upon the youth to focus on their goals and put in dedicated efforts to compete and excel at national and international levels. He asked them to channelize their energies in positive direction and create a niche for themselves in the field of sports.
The tournament was organized by Daskal Cricket Club under the supervision of Vinod, Zorawar Singh, Vivek Sharma and Pankaj Sharma. The tournament was sponsored by Jammu Motors and Vivo.
