JAMMU, Mar 19: Outplaying their rivals convincingly, Jammu Cricket Club and Khalsa Cricket Club advanced into the next round of the ongoing 1st SP Smart T20 Cup at ma Stadium, here today.
Earlier, Khalsa Cricket Club defeated City Boys Cricket Club by 45 runs. Batting first, Khalsa Club scored a decent total of 167 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Harinder Singh top scored with 54 runs, while Nitin and Vivek contributed 38 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Latief took 2 wickets, while Ankan claimed one wicket for City Boys Club.
In reply, City Boys Cricket Club bundled out for 122 runs to lose the match by 45 runs. Rajan, Lateef and Tariq contributed 28, 24 and 21 runs respectively. Harinder Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets, while Nitin claimed 2 wickets. Harinder Singh was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, JCC thrashed Striker XI by 9 wickets. Batting first, Striker CC collapsed at 50 runs. Anil and Vikram chipped in with 14 and 10 runs respectively. For JCC, Deepak Dogra (Baba) was the wrecker-in-chief, who bagged 4 important wicket by conceding 5 runs in his 4 overs, while Vishwajeet Singh and Rohit Sharma bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, JCC chased the target easily by losing one wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Vivrant and Suresh contributed 22 and 21 runs the total respectively. Deeoak Dogra was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
Madan, Vikas, Chander, Deepak and Sahil Bhal officiated the matches.
