KATRA, July 6: Wrestler Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of J&K Police, Akhara Bajrangi, Jammu lifted “55th Annual Aghar Jitto Kesari Dangal Title 2018 by defeating Wrestler Shamsher of Dinanagar (Punjab) in the main first malli bout that lasted for 19 minutes at village Aghar Jitto, near here.
Dangal was organized by Aghar Jitto Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association in the memory of great revolutionary Farmer Baba Jitto and Bua Kouri as part of three days historic and famous Mela.
Additional Deputy Secretary, Reasi Babu Ram was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes of Rs 2, 00,000 among the Wrestlers. Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association presided over the function.
ZEO Reasi Kaka Ram, Naib Tehsildar Vijay Kumar and ZEO Pouni Gopal Krishan Komal were the guests of honour. Prominent persons present on the occasion were Former Sarpanch Krishan Singh (Pappu), Former Sarpanch Rattan Singh and Vice-President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri).
Winner of Ist malli bout Lallu was awarded with cash prize of Rs 16,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Aghar Jitto Kesari 2018 Patta by the chief guest Babu Ram, Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council Shiv Kumar Sharma and Baba Mohan Lal Ji while runners-up Wrtestler Shamsher was presented Rs 15,000 by Naib Tehsildar Vijay Kumar, Former Sarpanch Krishan Singh, President of Aghar Jitto Dangal Committee Sunil Kumar Kholi and ZEO Reasi Kaka Ram.
38 bouts were played in the one day long dangal. Jugal Kishore Sharma (Bunty) contributed Rs 35,000 as financial assistance to the organizers.
The first malli bout was organized in the memory of late Girdhari Lal Sharma by his son Jugal Kishore Sharma (Bunty).
In the end, former Sarpanch Krishan Singh (Pappu) presented the vote of thanks.
