JAMMU, Oct 23: Jammu Vishal Stars and MIER Cricket Academy registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the Under-15 Diwali T-20 League for boys, being organized by Vishal Club Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Police at Parade ground, here today.
In the first match, Jammu Vishal Stars defeated Singh Akhnoor Lions by 9 wickets. Batting first, Singh Akhnoor Lions scored 74 runs in 19.2 overs for the loss of all wickets. Nitish Kumar was the top scorer with 29 runs.
Ashim Nanda scalped 3 wickets, while Sachin and Gurdaat shared one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Vishal Stars achieved the target in 13.2 overs for the loss of one wicket. Shivansh was the top scorer with 27 runs and Aryaveer scored 20 runs.
For Singh Akhnoor Lions, Shubam took one wicket.
Ashim Nanda was adjudged as Man of the Match.
In the second match, MIER Cricket Academy registered win over Jammu Rising Stars by 2 wickets.
Batting first, Jammu Rising Stars scored 106 runs in 20 overs for the loss of all wickets. Kartik made 25 runs, while Ayush scored 20 runs and Rohan Gill chipped in 14 runs.
Shahid Awan was the pick of the bowler, who took 4 wickets, while Arihan Gupta and Karmanya shared 2 wickets each and Jatin Shivgotra clinched 1 wicket.
In the second inning, MIER Cricket Academy achieved the target in 19 overs. Aditya Abrol made 20 runs, Aparjit scored 19 runs and Jatin chipped in 11 runs.
For Jammu Rising Stars side, Abay Tondon clinched 2 wickets, while Praful, Nalin, Laith August and Kartik took 1 wicket each.
Shahid was declared as Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sanjay Manchanda, Farooq Ahmad and Shugul.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Jammu Vishal Stars will clash with Jammu Rising Stars at 2 pm.
